I have loved Arabian horses since I was a girl, and was fortunate enough to convince my parents to take me to the Arabian Nationals, and other Arabians horse shows. I was also fortunate enough to see *Ansata Ibn Halima, *Morafic, *Sakr, and many equally great straight Egyptian mares.
Fast-forward to the late 1990’s, when I finally had sufficient funds to satisfy my “Arabian horse” obsession. Then, the Canadian tax laws changed, and I had the opportunity to travel to Canada to buy some fabulous straight Egyptian mares and fillies for a fraction of their true value.
Even more amazing, I had the “opportunity of a lifetime”—the chance to purchase MB Ibn Sehnab. I’m a patent attorney, and I was preparing for trial in Iowa when the offer came to me from my good friend, Darlene Cruit. “Can I have a photo-or better yet, a video of Ibn Sehnab, since I hadn’t seen him?” I asked. “No”, I was told—“If you don’t agree to buy him right now, I have been instructed by the seller to go down the list to the next potential buyer.” So, on the spot, on Darlene’s excellent advice, I bought MB Ibn Sehnab sight-unseen. I continue to thank Darlene for this opportunity to this day!
My husband Eric, who entered into my Arabian obsession mid-stream, is an animal lover, a great mechanical engineer, a fine art connoisseur, and an astute business man of fine art and antiques—with a great eye for a horse! He knew, without needing further assurances, that MB Ibn Sehnab was destined to be a great sire.
Though we planned to breed Ibn Sehnab more than we have, as they say, “life happens.” Finally, after we settled in Georgia, bought a modest farm, and learned about “equine reproduction,” MB Ibn Sehnab and the fine mares that we collected are having an opportunity to produce offspring that make their ancestors from the sands of the deserts of Arabia and Egypt proud of them. We are happy to share them with other straight Egyptian Arabian enthusiasts, and welcome your visit.
